Sender ID announcement
Dear customers,
We would like to advise you of an important industry-wide change that may affect how your SMS and MMS messages are displayed to recipients.
Customer Advisory – SMS Sender ID Changes Effective 1 July
To strengthen protection against SMS fraud and impersonation scams, the Australian Government, through the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), has introduced new requirements for businesses using SMS and MMS Sender IDs.
A Sender ID is the business name displayed at the top of an SMS or MMS, allowing recipients to easily identify who the message is from.
From 1 July, Australian telecommunications providers will verify whether Sender IDs have been registered under the new industry framework. If a Sender ID has not been registered, messages may be delivered with the sender name "Unverified" instead of your business name.
This change is designed to help customers distinguish legitimate business communications from potentially fraudulent or scam messages.
If your organisation uses SMS or MMS services through Evolvenet, we recommend ensuring your Sender ID has been registered to avoid your messages being displayed as "Unverified".
If you have any questions or require assistance with Sender ID registration, please contact the Evolvenet Support Team. We are happy to assist and help ensure your messaging services continue to operate smoothly.
Kind regards,
The Evolvenet Team
